Body Check by Teagan Hunter

The first in the Seattle Serpents series, Body Check is swoony, spicy, and sweet. Hutch and Auden have an incredible chemistry, and I loved watching their relationship evolve. Their story begins with them meeting by chance at the airport and then happening to be on the same flight. There’s an instant attraction and a quick one-night situation, but neither of them does anything about it otherwise. A month later, they run into each other again, and sparks fly yet again. That sort of becomes a thing for them, but eventually that simple relationship they’ve got going turns into something more. But things can’t be that easy, and we’re left to find out if Hutch and Auden can really be together.

I completely love Auden’s character! She’s this bright CEO of her own hotel chain that’s absolutely likeable and relatable, and she was fantastic throughout the book. Then there’s Hutch, and he’s this charming hottie of a hockey player that’s got a bit of baggage, but that actually made me like him more. However, at one point Hutch shows just how dumb he can be where Auden’s concerned, and I enjoyed watching him learn his lesson.

And the secondary characters are fantastically funny and really work with the larger storyline. Auden’s twin and bestie are cheeky and hilarious, and I thought the way they were really there for Auden was great. Plus, then we have Hutch’s teammate buddies, and I adored everything about their presence in this book. They’re hilarious, and I want more from them.

Body Check is a fun but steamy hockey romance, and I loved seeing how Hutch and Auden’s romance developed. If you’re a lover of hockey romances with endearing characters and some humor peppered in, then this is the book for you.
