Only One Love is certainly hot, but there’s a sweetness to it, too. This book proves yet again why Madison’s book are always must reads, and you’re not going to want to miss it.
The seventh book in the Only One
series focuses on professional hockey player Wilson and Franny, the sports show
producer and Wilson’s teammate’s sister. They’ve encountered (more than that
really) each other before at Franny’s cousin’s wedding before, but the story picks
up when she moves to Dallas to work as a producer for sports shows. She’s got a
lot to prove in a male-driven field, and he’s got a reputation to contend with
while understanding that he’s getting older in the sport. They meet again because
the show she’s working on is about the bad boys of hockey, and Wilson fits that
profile perfectly. Their attraction is strong though, and their (sort of)
professional relationship quickly goes from that to more.
These characters are amazingly well written. They’re multidimensional,
and I fell in love with them immediately. Franny is so take charge and fiery,
but then she’s also dealing with the fact that her role at work intimidates not
only her male coworkers but men in general. Add that to the rift between her
and her father because of her move to Dallas, and she has a lot to deal with.
And Wilson? I don’t think I could love him more. Yes, he can come off like a
cocky player, but really he’s this likeable character that’s had a rough go at
life from the start. He’s used to being used by the women in his life it seems
and gets a bad rap on and off the ice, but he’s far more admirable than he’s
given credit for.
And Wilson and Franny together? They are absolutely phenomenal.
What I love about Madison’s writing is her ability to write deliciously steamy
characters that have depth, and the heat between Wilson and Franny is scorching!
The way he woos Franny is so sweet, and I couldn’t get enough of their fun and
cheeky interactions. There’s a seriousness to them, though, and the pull
between them is so strong. It’s the mix of playfulness and vulnerability between
Wilson and Franny that I think was so addictive about this book.
If you love a steamy romance with clever characters, Only
One Love is for you. Wilson and Franny’s story is one that you’re not going to
be able to put down, and I’ve got a feeling that this one is going to stay with
me for a while. That’s just how good it is.
