If you’re into deliciously grumpy alphas, Caleb is your guy.
He’s a domineering, dirty talking, surly sort of character, and I swear he just
gets better as the story progresses. And Evie is complex in the sense that
while she’s a tough lady boss now, her character began as a relatively naïve
young woman. I loved seeing her transition through the flashbacks, even though
those moments made me sad for her and annoyed with Caleb. Both of them mature
so much from when they’re first together to the present, and I adore how their
relationship really comes full circle by the end.
And the angst! So much angst! This book was utterly
unputdownable. The near constant tension was peppered with some seriously spicy
moments, and I couldn’t get enough. This book gets right to it, and keeps up
the pace the entire time. There’s not a boring moment with all the drama
happening, and
This book is a wholly dramatic romance with some seriously
angsty tension, and it’s a must read for anyone looking for a book with all the
spicy drama. Caleb and Evie’s story is addictive, and after getting a glimpse
of what’s to come in the next book I can’t wait for Tristian and Belle in
Second Chance Rival.
