Flame by Adriana Locke

Sweet but steamy, and plenty fun, Flame is everything I was hoping for! I've been waiting for Foxx's story since the first book, and what a way to end the series. We finally get to see who Foxx really is beneath it all and discover that he's been working as part of the Brewer's security detail. Bianca is his love interest, but their connection began with him being her older brother's best friend and also her bodyguard for a time until he, well, wasn't anymore. Fast forward to the present, and her family is in trouble because of a clause saying she needs to be married for her to keep control of the family business. I don't want to ruin anything for you, but Foxx comes to the rescue by offering to be her fake but legally real husband.

I absolutely love Bianca's character! She's sweet but smart and funny, and it's easy to see how Foxx's character could fall for her. And Foxx proved to be even more than I thought he was. Not only was he the grumbly older brother, but he turned out to be caring and nothing short of swoonworthy. Together they just work so well, and I couldn't have wished for a better pairing.

I loved this book so much that I've actually both read and listened to this book, and it's great reading it but AMAZING listening to it. CJ Bloom and Teddy Hamilton narrate as Bianca and Foxx, and they give such personality to the characters. The choice of these voice actors was perfect from Bianca's feistiness to Foxx's possessiveness. Between the writing and how well it's narrated, this story has life and feels so believable and relatable.

Plus, we got to revisit so many characters, which is something I love about this book. It's like seeing old friends again, and there's a certain comfort in that while reading. We get a bit of multiple characters, but they never overshadow Foxx and Bianca. If anything, they further the storyline while adding moments of comedic relief, too.

If you've read the rest of the Carmichael Family series, you already know you want to read Foxx's book. If you haven't, then all I can say is please read it. This is one of my favorite series, and you will not be disappointed.
