The Barista's Guide to the Perfect Steam by Valerie Pepper

Sweet but spicy, The Barista’s Guide to the Perfect Steam is everything I had hoped for and more! It’s Price and Jodi’s story, and when it begins Jodi’s not really on Price’s radar until a fire devastates her apartment above her coffee shop. From there things take off, and it’s clear that something more is brewing between them. But with their own insecurities and even other people that threaten to get in the way, will things between them be able to work out?

This book! Every single part of it had me engaged and excited to see what the next chapter had in store. When I say this is a book that’s well written, I mean it. The setting is described in detail so I could really picture the space this book lives in, the tone is light but you get the feeling of depth, and the characters are perfection. I love every single one of them except for the ones I don’t think we’re meant to love. I adored Price and Jodi, but all the secondary characters are phenomenal, too. I’m especially excited to get more of Will, and Darius is an exceptional supporting character.

And as far as the MMC and MFC, Price is such an utter doll, and Jodi is one of the most genuinely kind characters that I’ve read in a minute. I love that simmering tension between them, and when they come together it’s smile inducing. A lot happens between them in the time following the fire at Jodi’s, but it’s seamless and believable and gave me all the feels.

With a book like this, Pepper deserves to be on every romance reader’s TBR. This book delivers swoon-worthy moments and a whole lotta heat, and I can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.
