Secret Puck by Rebecca Jenshak

Secret Puck, the first book in the Campus Nights series, is definitely the sweetest college romance that I’ve read in a long while.

Ginny is a freshman at Valley U and the little sister to their hockey team’s captain, Adam. Heath is Adam’s roommate/teammate and also happens to be the little brother of basketball player Nathan, who had his own book The Fake. They meet and there’s an instant attraction that neither of them act on for a long while aside from one steamy kiss they decide to not let go further. From there, they try to stay in the friend zone but eventually fail, and we get to see their undeniable chemistry evolve from there.

What I love about this author is that she’s able to develop such authentic characters. They’re never cheesy or unbelievable, and she didn’t disappoint with Heath, Ginny, or any of the secondary characters. I enjoy when authors make it so you like the main characters but they remain realistic. Jenshak does just that.

Also, I liked the development and pacing of the story. It was neither rushed nor took forever to get to the point. We get a little tension with the first kiss, and it just goes from there building little by little all the while. It’s definitely part of what makes Secret Puck such a page turner.

This book is sweet, sexy, and hard to put down. It’s definitely a great start to the series. You won’t want to miss it.
