Sasha by Eva Winners

Brutally passionate, Sasha and Branka story delivers all the drama and steam you’d expect from this mafia romance series and more. Their tale begins 7 years ago when meet in a bar and begin a sort of friendship. There’s an instant spark, but it doesn’t really go anywhere. For reasons you’ll find out, they don’t meet again for three years and then another four, but when they do it’s explosive. After seven years pretty much apart, there are lot of feelings that need to be dealt with on top of the fact that Branka is now engaged to someone else. Will they be able to move forward together, or will the years spent apart be too much?

So, I’ve been waiting for Sasha’s story for ages, and it was worth the wait. He’s every bit the scary psycho but then so much more, too. He’s not just completely unhinged (even though he kinda is), but he does have ghosts that haunt him and make him question everything about himself. Yes, he’s ruthless, but he’s also this completely damaged soul that’s desperate for his one love to love him back.

And Branka is so much more the tough girl than I gave her credit for at first. You see her grow as a person and really begin to come into her own. I loved seeing her transformation and how she refuses to be a victim, even though she was put through more than anyone ever should be. It’s entertaining to see her try and put big, bad Sasha in his place, and the way her self-confidence grew throughout the story was what I wanted for her character.

Not only did I love Sasha and Branka, but the spice and drama was off the charts good, too. These two are beyond steamy, and their chemistry is nothing less than combustible. Then all the drama? If you’re into dark and intense, then this book is for you. There is so much that happens throughout this story, and the tension and “what ifs” just jump from the pages. I adored every bit of it, and I didn’t want it to end.

This mafia romance is precisely what I needed it to be, but that doesn’t surprise me since this entire series has been well written and addictive. Luca’s story’s up next, and I can’t wait to see what Winners has in store for him.
