Immoral by Maggie Cole

Immoral is the fantastically intriguing second installment of the Mafia Wars New York series, and it doesn’t disappoint! Enthralling from the first pages, Gianni and Cara’s story is exactly what you want in a mafia romance.

Having spent years being on again and off again, Gianni finally decides to take what he’s always really wanted and make Cara his wife after she finds herself in a terrifying predicament at the hands of her recent ex. Of course, she’s not thrilled with the idea after spending years having her heart broken by Gianni, but then she doesn’t exactly have much of a choice in the matter at this point. That doesn’t mean she’s going to make it easy on him, though, and I loved Cara for it. She makes Gianni work for her despite the attraction and feelings that never actually went away. And Gianni? A dangerous and sexy Gianni is good, but a dangerous, sexy, and desperate for his woman and viscerally protective of her Gianni is better than you can even imagine.

Cole’s writing of Gianni and Cara is flawless, and she’s constructed yet another book that was just impossible for me to put down. There’s such a tremendous amount of hurt, love, distrust, and forgiveness woven into the pages of this book, and it makes for an utterly compelling read. I loved seeing how these characters that we’ve met before go from very complicatedly separate to together again. There’s something so satisfying with the way their relationship evolves throughout the course of this book with all its ups and downs, and I couldn’t get enough of this second-chance romance.

Gianni and Cara’s book is everything that I was hoping it would be, and I definitely recommend it for mafia/dark romance readers. At the end, we get a glimpse of the next book, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of the series.
