Misdeeds of a Billionaire by Eva Winners

Drama filled with tension and drama, this spicy book is second chance romance done right. Byron and Odette’s story begins six years ago with their chance meeting while she was treating him for sunburn on the French Riviera at her father’s hospital. Their connection was immediate and undeniable, and their brief affair leaves behind more than just memories. But there are other players getting in the way, and by the time the story really picks up it’s years later. Odette and her sister are in trouble and running into Byron sets off a whole chain reaction, but will these two finally be able to come together, or will all the past hurt and secrets be too much to ever get over?

I adore these two! Their chemistry, the way they play off each other, the angst…all of it culminates into these characters that are just crazy good together. I love a second-chance romance, and this one is definitely on my list of favorites for this trope for the year. I don’t want to give anything away, but the intensity is so delicious. For me, it’s the tension throughout the storyline and how well it’s done that makes this book so addictive.

And individually, Byron and Odette are amazing characters. He’s the rich older man that has a lot of conflicting feelings when it comes to her, but we get pieces of who he is really that make him such a fantastically complex character. Then there’s Odette, and her personality and how she’ll do anything to keep the people that are most dear to her safe are what makes her so likable. She’s pretty young, but there’s a sense of old soul there too that I just loved.

So, if you enjoy second chances or romance with plenty of drama and danger, then Misdeeds of a Billionaire is a must read. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone, and I’m so excited to see what Winners has in store next for us.
