Made for Romeo by Natasha Madison

This complicated romance is a bit of a divergence from the rest of the series, but I enjoyed the different angle it took. It starts off with Romeo showing up on Gabriella’s doorstep unexpectedly after eight months of nothing. I don’t want to ruin anything, but he did something he definitely shouldn’t have and then after a lot of self-work, he comes to make it right. She’s living life in Dallas working remotely as a photographer now after leaving LA and the life she had there. What she never expected was to find Romeo crashing back into her life begging for a second chance. Will these two ever be able to move past the biggest mistake of his life, or will that lapse in judgement forever ruin what was once wonderful?

I adore Gabriella’s character. In every book we’ve met her in, she’s this phenomenally sassy woman that I love is part of this amazing cast of characters. She’s the sort that you root for automatically and who makes it all that much more entertaining. I think that’s why what happened with her and Romeo hits so hard. He screwed up. Like big. Like “what is wrong with you, sir???” big. He knows it, too. That’s why he’s working so hard all this time later, and I appreciate that.

The subject matter in this book might be hard for some to come to terms with, but for me it’s what gives the plotline such gravity. Romeo and Gabriella’s story isn’t an easy one, but what good love story really ever is? I love that mistakes were made, realized, and acknowledged. There’s something so real about that.

I’ve loved this entire series, and Made For Romeo, while a departure from the overall hockey feel, is another great installment. It’s got its difficult moments but so many others that make up for that. If you’re looking for a romance that’s not going to be easy on its characters, then this is one that you’re definitely going to want to read.
