This romantic comedy had me grinning like crazy, and both Nash
and Chelle are quirky cute. Nash can’t help but drive pretty much everyone
crazy with his incessant mansplaining, and Chelle is the quiet, bookish, older
woman. At first, they believe they won’t actually have to worry about making it
through their marriage without catching feelings, but then one thing leads to
another, which is when things get interesting. Their interactions are
entertaining, and I enjoyed seeing how their characters played off of one another.
However, something that didn’t quite work for me was the
description of Chelle. I adore a curvy heroine, but her character was so down
on herself that it made me feel sad for her. Plus, the way she was described
came off as dowdy and verging on unattractive, and I found myself wishing for
more positive descriptors. I much preferred Nash’s description of Chelle, which
was definitely much kinder and sweeter.
Overall, this is a fun, cute, and steamy read. I enjoy a
book that puts a smile on my face and gets me giggling, and Mansplainer did
just that.
