I’ve been impatiently waiting for this book, and I’m so pleased
with how Kane and Ivy’s story turned out. I love how hard sweet little bookworm
Ivy crushed on Kane for years and how she finally catches his eye. She’s
likeable and relatable in the sense that she’s got her insecurities and flaws,
but then she’s got so much sass and personality, too. Her character was perfect
for Kane, who I had a feeling would fall hard in love when he finally met the
right woman. Having already known his character a bit from the previous books, I
figured he would be as charming and affable as I already knew him to be, but I
was not prepared for how much I adored his character. He’s spicy and sweet, but
then he’s also so kind and compassionate and has an artistic flair, which I thought
just added so much depth to Kane. Despite their age difference, Kane and Ivy
work so well together, but their relationship isn’t without its issues at
times. They’ve got a lot to deal with as far as their being together goes, and
that added tension aided in making this story utterly addictive.
Then there’s the secondary cast of characters at the ranch,
and they are simply so good! I enjoyed getting moments with everyone we’ve met
before in the previous books, and their placement in the book pushed the
narrative forward in a seamless way. My favorite out of all of them is Kaitlyn,
though. She’s hysterical! I don’t think her character means to be so funny, but
she just is and that makes her even better. Her and Payton’s book is next, and
I’m beyond excited for it.
While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a
standalone, but I think you’ll want to read the others because they’re all so
well written and nobody writes cowboy romance the way Kennedy Fox do. Tempting the
Cowboy is a definite must read for any romance book lover, and I cannot wait to
see what happens with Kaitlyn and Payton.
