How to Win the Girl by Sara Ney

Clever, fun, and flat out hilarious, How to Win the Girl is the newest book in the Campus Legends series and is not to be missed. This is Drake’s story, and it begins with him trying to find his twin brother Drew a girlfriend. Basically, Drake doesn’t exactly understand how to stay in his lane where Drew is concerned and thinks he needs to help his brother out. He means well, and he just wants to help so much and thinks a dating app is the way to go. Fatefully, he meets a girl, Daisy, in Drew’s class and ends up going back and forth with her. She’s not like the girls he’s used to though, and they form a friendship of sorts based on snark and banter. However, the further things go, the more muddled everything gets. Will things work out for these two, or will Drake’s good intentions backfire on him?

Drake and Daisy are SO good! Drake is the unwittingly arrogant football player with a future in the NFL, and Daisy is the every girl that doesn’t know or care about the popular jock. The way these two play off each other is comedic perfection, and their chemistry sizzles. I love Drake for every bit the sort of confident but haphazardly sweet and swoony character he is. Like the further you get into who he really is and not just everyone’s perception of him, the better he gets. And Daisy is exactly the sort of heroine he needed. She’s funny and sarcastic but genuine, and I appreciate a character like her.

Also, what I love about Ney’s books is that she creates these characters that feel so real in the sense that they’re not perfect. Not only that, but she does so in a way that makes me laugh. Seriously, please try and read one of her books and not at least crack a smile. I dare you.  

From the start, this book put me in a good mood, and all the cheekiness and heartfelt moments add up to a book that’s fantastically entertaining and addictive. The characters, plot, and humor make this book another fantastic addition to the series, and I’m so excited to see what happens with Drew.
