Have you ever read a book where in literally the first pages it just sucks you in and messes with your feelings? Till Next Time is one of those books. It’s heart wrenching and heartfelt, and this story will have you hooked from the very start.
This is the story of Colt, the loner that drifts along
working jobs whose past is never too far behind him, and Susanna, the
intelligent but wounded woman who returned home to care for her dying father. Colt
being in town for his sister and best friend’s wedding puts them near one
another, but it’s Susanna’s father who does a bit of meddling and gets them together
again over pizza one night. From there, we find their relationship changing
from nonexistent after the decade spent apart to a whole lot more, and we get
to see how the past forms the present.
These characters are simply amazing. There is so much depth
within the pages of this book that it’s hard to put into words. Colt and
Susanna have this connection that’s so deep on such a fundamental level that
the fact that they’re total opposites doesn’t really even matter. They have
past hurts that inform their lives now but seeing their undeniable chemistry and
how they navigate life together just left me in awe. They’re two souls who just
need each other, and I don’t know how to express how much beauty in these two
characters there is.
This is absolutely a wonderfully written book. The story was
crafted clearly with such care, and it shows. Something I’ve always loved about
Cora Brent’s books is that she’s able to construct a story that ends up being
divinely romantic but with such a gravity that it sticks with you. The
characters and plotline work together in harmony, and the way the story comes
together is well done and paced perfectly.
Gripping and emotional from the start, this book is not to
be missed. It has all the hallmarks of deliberately stunning book that is going
to stay with you for a long time after you’ve put it down.
