Scoring the Player by Rebecca Jenshak

Sweet and a bit of a slow burn, Scoring the Player is fake dating romance in all its glory. This is Felix and Dahlia’s story, both of whom we’ve met before. When the book starts, we find that Dahlia is every bit the wallflower that she’s known to be in the previous books in the series while Felix is the popular quarterback. She’s been on his radar for a minute, but it takes a very unfortunate video circulating to kick things off for these two. Despite Dahlia’s humiliation, this sets in motion the plan to fake date for a period. However fake their relationship starts out as, something more develops, but will there ever be anything real between them when their time together is up?

I love how perfect together Felix and Dahlia are despite how different they are! He’s the hottie QB that everyone likes, and she’s someone that prefers to not exactly live in the limelight, but somehow they just click. And he is so genuine and kind with Dahlia that it’d be impossible not to adore him. It was beyond enjoyable to see how they navigated their situation and how their relationship grew into what it did.

Also, something Jenshak does exceptionally well is write groups of characters that form a family. The very real feeling connection between all the characters in this series is what helps make it as good as it is. Not only do they all help to propel the main characters, but they’re also the source of so much of the fun that this book is. I don’t want to ruin anything, but I will say that I sincerely hope that we get to see a couple of Felix’s teammates get their own HEAs.

This is another must read from the Campus Wallflowers series that in the end just made me happy. It’s cute and entertaining, and I can’t wait to find out what happens with Jane.
